The Healthcare Training Institute encourages prospective students to come in and speak with an advisor and tour the facility. During this time, the advisor will discuss the programs offered and the requirements, and help you to decide which program is right for you.
In order to be admitted to any program at the Healthcare Training Institute, an applicant must:
Meet with an advisor to discuss student expectations and program requirements
Complete an application and pay all registration fees
Must pass a criminal background check, (CNA, PCT, and Pharmacy Tech students)
Pharmacy Tech students required to take an admission test and pass with a 75%
Submit high school diploma or GED, (CNA student excluded)
Complete a math and reading assessment test
Submit completed physical exam and immunization records
Complete CPR certification
Practical Nursing Program Admission Requirements
The Healthcare Training Institute’s admission process for
the Practical Nursing Program will occur in four (4) phases. As you advance through the phases, you will
be given additional information.
Phase I: Testing Phase Phase II: Application and Interview Phase
Phase III: Acceptance
into the Practical Nursing Program Pending Board Approval
Phase IV: Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse
Examiners Evaluation (LSBPNE)

***We are now testing (TABE Test) for the August 2019 class. To register to test you must submit the following documents:
Birth Certificate (certificate or card with full name,
no initials). Bring in originals to be
copied by schools admissions department.
Department of Education State Approved High School
Diploma (original) / Department of Education State Approved GED (Original) to
be copied by the school.
$65.00 cash or Money Order for TABE Test Fee
Note: If you are currently serving a court imposed
order of supervised probation, work release, school release and/or parole in
conjunction with any felony conviction(s), plea agreement or any agreement
pursuant to the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 893, you are not
eligible to be enrolled into the Practical Nursing Program.
