The mission of the Pharmacy Technician program is to prepare students for entry into a global workforce as a Pharmacy Technician.

This program will prepare students for entry-level position as a Pharmacy Technician in retail or the hospital. The compentencies of this program follows the duties and responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician as outlined by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy. Topics of study include introduction to pharmacy practice, job duties and responsobilities in pharmacy, pharmacy laws and ethics, mathematical terminology and calculations, classification of drugs, dosage forms, drug dispensing and communication. The students will also demonstrate their skills in the clinical setting. The students will be encouraged to attain their national certification. Upon completion of all program requirements, the students will receive a certificate of completion.

Pharmacy Tech Gainful Employment Disclosure

The goal of the Healthcare Training Institute is the prepare the graduate to take and pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam, obtain their certification, and gain employment as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
