The mission of the Practical Nursing program is to prepare students for entry into a global workforce as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

This program will prepare students for entry-level position as a Practical Nurse in the hospital or clinic. The compentencies of this program follows the duties and responsibilities of a Practical Nurse as outlined by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners. Topics of study include anatomy and physiology, health assessment, nutrition, communication, legal rights and ethics, fundamentals of nursing, professional nursing, pharmacology, medical surgical nursing, maternal child nursing, pediactric nursing, geriatric nursing, mental health nursing, and community health nursing. The students will also demonstrate their skills in lab and in the clinical setting.

Practical Nurse Gainful Employment Disclosure

The goal of the Healthcare Training Institute is the prepare the graduate to take and pass the Practical Nurse Licensure Exam, obtain their license, and gain employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
